This saber is the first collaboration between Ignition Saber Co. and incredible sabersmith Gary Morris. A worthy tribute to Gary's masterpiece, originally known as "Wrecker," this new hilt is a fully updated version for 2023. Dimensions have been refined and subtle changes made to modernize it while the hilt still retains the basic original aesthetic of Gary's hand-made masterpiece.
A visible crystal chamber with brass crystal retention and four individual machined brass rods on the sides speak to elegant nature of this saber. The thin neck makes for an incredible choke on which to grip this saber securely. Two domed tactile switches allow for activation and aux and the upper shroud reveals just a hint of knurling around the emitter's opening. The rear shroud can be removed to expose both a removable 18650 battery and the sound board, which can fit CFX, Golden Harvest v3 or a Proffie 2.2. (All three board holders and a battery tray with tabs is included with purchase.) The pommel unscrews to reveal the resting place of a 28mm bass speaker to give this beauty the volume it deserves. The crystal chamber can hold both a top, and bottom round individual pixel to fully light up the chamber. You will need to provide your own crystal for the chamber. It can fit a traditional quartz crystal or a round crystal up to 12mm in diameter.
While this saber is beautiful as-is, the front and rear shrouds are just aching for etching, weathering and powder coating. The customization options for this saber make it individual to each owner. Each one will be as different as the Jedi or Sith that posses it. If you would like your saber etched, be sure to add the etching item in the accessories section and get in touch with your design ideas. There are certain limitations on what can be done, but the etching charge is fully refundable if I’m unable to meet your needs.
The saber does not hold a traditional chassis. In keeping with Gary’s original design, there is a battery tray and separate board holder that nest inside the lower section of the saber. These have been fully redesigned for this run. They allow batteries to hold tightly but be easily removed when you need to swap them out. Each saber will come with the battery holder (and needed tabs) as well as three different board holders designed to take CFX, Proffie or GHv3 sound boards.
Hilt includes: Core saber, front and rear shrouds, four machined brass accent rods and brass crystal holders. All parts are made from 6061-T6 aluminum and brass. Also includes: battery holder with tabs, three soundboard holders for Proffie, CFX and GHv3.
You will need the following to install this hilt:
Crystal of your choice (natural quartz or 12mm quartz marble, two dome tactile switches (switch 22 at the custom saber shop.)
Normal electronics you would need for any saber (pixel pcb, soundboard, 28mm speaker, wiring, 18650 battery, etc.)
